General Maintenance Tips!

If you already own a Shoreline fridge, it’s important to keep it maintained to ensure it continues to run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Here are some handy tips to help your fridge in top working condition:

  • Cleaning: The first step in maintaining your Shoreline fridge is to keep it clean. Clean the interior of the fridge at least once a month using either a non abrasive fridge cleaner or soapy water. Make sure to remove all the food items before cleaning. Remember to carefully clean the exterior of the fridge to keep it free from dust and dirt.
  • Seals: The seals around the fridge doors help to keep the cool air inside your unit. If they’re damaged, torn or worn out, they will reduce the efficiency of your fridge leading to an unwanted drain on your battery! Check your seals regularly to ensure they’re in good condition. If you feel like your seals may need replacing, these are available here
  • Overloading: Avoid loading your fridge with too many goods, as this can cause your fridge to reduce it’s efficiency.
Airflow and ventilation: Check around the sides and rear of your unit, making sure that there is at least a finger-width gap around it to ensure correct ventilation. If your fridge has bad airflow, you can risk damaging it and vastly reducing its efficiency when it overheats.
  • De-frosting: If your Shoreline fridge has a built in freezer, or if you own a Shoreline freezer, then these should be defrosted regularly.
